11%, OR = 1.6, 95% CI = 1.1-2.7). Despite this increased incidence, severe IVH was not associated with transport vehicle ( = .90; OR = 0.76, 95% CI = 0.34-1.7), distance traveled ( = .13; OR 0.84, 95% CI = 0.60-1.2), or skill of resuscitation team ( = .18; OR = 0.49, 95% CI = 0.21-1.1). Compared to inborn, outborn infants had increased risk of severe IVH. Transport vehicle, distance traveled, and the skill of resuscitation team did not significantly impact risk.Compared to inborn, outborn infants had increased risk of severe IVH. To investigate the effect of carboxyl terminus of Hsc70-interacting protein (CHIP) on pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cell (PASMC) proliferation and the underlying mechanism. PASMCs were harvested from distal PAs isolated from SD rat lungs and cultured. After CHIP overexpression, PASMCs were exposed to normoxia or hypoxia for 60 h. Then, PASMC proliferation, store-operated Ca entry (SOCE), [Ca ] and the expression of TRPC1, TRPC4, and TRPC6 in PASMCs were measured. CHIP overexpression promoted PASMC proliferation, SOCE, [Ca ] and the expression of TRPC1, TRPC4, and TRPC6. CHIP stimulates PASMC proliferation likely by targeting the TRPC1,4,6-SOCE-[Ca ] signaling pathway. To investigate the effect of carboxyl terminus of Hsc70-interacting protein (CHIP) on pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cell (PASMC) proliferation and the underlying mechanism. Materials and Methods PASMCs were harvested from distal PAs isolated from SD rat lungs and cultured. After CHIP overexpression, PASMCs were exposed to normoxia or hypoxia for 60 h. Then, PASMC proliferation, store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE), [Ca2+]i and the expression of TRPC1, TRPC4, and TRPC6 in PASMCs were measured. Results CHIP overexpression promoted PASMC proliferation, SOCE, [Ca2+]i and the expression of TRPC1, TRPC4, and TRPC6. Conclusions CHIP stimulates PASMC proliferation likely by targeting the TRPC1,4,6-SOCE-[Ca2+]i signaling pathway.Working time arrangements that match employees' preferences have been proposed as determinants of employees' well-being, an assumption rooted in person-environment fit theory. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of fit and misfit between actual and preferred working time arrangements (length of working hours, control over the beginning and end of workdays, and workplace segmentation) for employees' satisfaction with work-life balance. We analyzed data from 8,580 employees from the BAuA-working time survey - a representative study among the working population in Germany - by means of polynomial regression and response surface analyses. Analyses did not point toward congruence effects but revealed significant main effects Satisfaction with work-life balance was higher in case of shorter actual and longer preferred weekly working hours, and it was decreased if employees worked longer than they preferred. Moreover, more supplies and lower preferences in terms of control over the beginning and end of workdays, more workplace segmentation supplies, and lower workplace segmentation preferences were related to higher satisfaction with work-life balance. Overall, this study sheds light on the roles of fit and misfit between actual and preferred working time arrangements for employees' work-home interface. Findings suggest that while employees' preferences should find entrance into the design of work schedules, congruence is not a precondition for achieving a good work-life balance. Most importantly, for a good work-life balance, working hours should not be longer than preferred, and employees should have some control over their scheduling and possibilities to segment work and private life.To explore the influence of sodium ferulate (SF) on miR-133a and left ventricle remodeling (LVR) in rats with myocardial infarction (MI). The left coronary artery was ligated to create 36 ischemia-reperfusion (IR) rat models that were randomly divided into mock surgical group (MSG) (not ligated), model group (MG), and sodium ferulate group (SFG). After the successful modeling, SFG was intravenously injected with SF at the dose of 10 mg/kg, and the other two groups were injected with the same volume of normal saline. After 28 days, cardiac hemodynamic indices of all groups were measured; the myocardial infarction size (MIS), left ventricular mass index (LVMI), and collagen volume fraction (CVF) were calculated, the content of serum malondialdehyde (MDA) and activities of catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione catalase (GSH-px) were detected by ELISA, and miR-133a expression in myocardial tissues of the left ventricle (LV) was detected by RT-qPCR. SF improved the cardiac hemodynamic indices of rat model and reduced the MIS, LVMI and CVF. SF decreased the serum MDA level and increased the serum CAT, SOD and GSH-px levels in rat model. SF increased the expression of miR-133a in myocardial tissue of rat model. Therefore, SF could effectively reduce the myocardial injury of IR rats and improve the LVR. Its mechanism may be related to the antioxygenation and upregulation of miR-133a.There is not enough data about osteoporosis and the role of receptor activator of nuclear factor κ-Β ligand (RANKL)/serum osteoprotegerin (OPG) system in patients with double heterozygosity for sickle cell disease and β-thalassemia [Hb S (HBB c.20A>T)/β-thal] and β-thal trait. Aim of the study was to investigate bone mineral densities (BMD) and the role of RANKL/OPG system in these cases. We studied 58 adults with Hb S/β-thal, 52 adults with β-thal trait, 34 healthy subjects as a control group. The BMD was determined by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA). Biochemical markers of bone metabolism (serum calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase, osteocalcin) parameters that affect bone metabolism (serum parathyroid hormone, thyroid-stimulating hormone, 25-hydroxyvitamin D, OPG, soluble RANKL [sRANKL]) were studied. Femoral neck Z-scores of 93.2% for β-thal trait, 83.0% for Hb S/β-thal patients were within the expected range. Lumbar spine Z-scores of 89.1% for β-thal, 90.2% for Hb S/β-thal patients were above -2.
