nd was able to inhibit biofilm formation over than Ter- negative strain (**** <0.0001). Our study shows that Ter-positive cells display lower sensitivity to UVC radiation, corresponding to a presence in minimal operon. In addition, our study suggests that also auto-aggregation ability is related to minimal operon. The role of the minimal operon ( Δ ) in resistance behavior of under environmental stress is evident. Our study shows that Ter-positive cells display lower sensitivity to UVC radiation, corresponding to a presence in minimal ter operon. In addition, our study suggests that also auto-aggregation ability is related to minimal ter operon. The role of the minimal ter operon (terBCDEΔF) in resistance behavior of E. coli under environmental stress is evident. Climatic changes are the most important abiotic factor affecting plant growth, crop quality and nutritional value. Plants exposed to thermal stress respond by accumulation of secondary metabolites/molecules (SMs). Tomato ( ) is a cosmopolitan crop, eaten by most of the world's people because it is highly nutritious plant. It is cultivated in more than 16 thousand hectares in Saudi Arabia and thus is influenced by extreme climatic changes. In the current study, the phytochemical effect of thermal stress was investigated in seedlings of . Such information will be very helpful in developing more tolerant tomato cultivars in a climate change scenario. Seedlings of were subjected to heat shock; HS1 and HS2 (45 and 50 °C) and cold shock; CS (4 °C) in comparison to control; Con (25 °C). Phenolic compounds, flavonoids, total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC) and antioxidant activity were estimated under the four temperature treatments. Using 23 standards (17 phenolic and six flavonoiatments. CS plants exhibited higher number, absolute amounts of SMs, higher TPC and TFC than those of Con, HS1 and HS2 plants. Additionally, CS plants showed higher antioxidant activity than that of both HS1 and HS2 plants. Such results are very useful in justifying mechanism of tolerance in tomato plant to thermal stress in the context of climate change. Additional research has turned on to reveal molecular response of tomato to such thermal stress. Cardiac surgeries are high risk procedures that require specialized care and access to these procedures is often limited in resource-poor countries. Although fatalities for surgical patients across Africa are twice that of the global rate, cardiac surgical mortality continent-wide is only slightly higher than all-surgical mortality. Understanding demographic and health characteristics of patients and the associations of these characteristics with morbidity and mortality events is important in guiding care decisions. Therefore, the objectives of this study were to (a) describe the characteristics of cardiac surgical patients; (b) identify the associations between these characteristics and morbidity and mortality events following cardiac surgery. Patient characteristics and post-surgical complications were abstracted for all cardiac surgical patients treated at a tertiary care hospital in Kenya from 2008 to 2017. Descriptive analyses of demographic factors, co-morbidities, peri-operative conditions, and posf co-morbidities as the most useful predictors of post-surgical complications suggests that patient characteristics may be a larger contributor to the incidence of complications than surgical practices. Kawasaki disease (KD) is an acute and febrile systemic vasculitis of unknown etiology. This study aimed to identify the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks of lncRNAs, miRNAs, and genes in KD and explore the molecular mechanisms underlying KD. GSE68004 and GSE73464 datasets were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus. Differentially expressed lncRNAs (DElncRNAs) and genes (DEGs) in KD were identified using the criteria of <0.05 and | log (fold change) |≥1. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) related to KD were searched from databases. The lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA networks involving the DElncRNAs and DEGs were constructed. A total of 769 common upregulated, 406 common downregulated DEGs, and six DElncRNAs were identified in the KD samples. The lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA network consisted of four miRNAs, three lncRNAs (including the upregulated , , and the downregulated ) and four DEGs (including the downregulated and the upregulated , , and ). Validation in the GSE18606 dataset showed that intravenous immunoglobulin treatment significantly alleviated the deregulated profiles of the above RNAs in KD patients. Three ceRNA networks of , - , and / - - - were identified. Four genes were associated with functional categories, such as inflammatory response and vascular endothelial cell. The ceRNA networks involve genes, such as , , and , and lncRNAs, including , , and , which might play a key role in the pathogenesis and development of KD by regulating inflammation. The ceRNA networks involve genes, such as SOD2, MAPK14, and PPARG, and lncRNAs, including PSORS1C3, LINC00999, and SNHG5, which might play a key role in the pathogenesis and development of KD by regulating inflammation.Felidae species show a great diversity in their diet, foraging and hunting strategies, from small to large prey. Whether they belong to solitary or group hunters, the behavior of cats to subdue resisting small or large prey presents crucial differences. It is assumed that pack hunting reduces the per capita risk of each individual. We hypothesize that the sacroiliac articulation plays a key role in stabilizing the predator while subduing and killing prey. Using CT-scan from 59 felid coxal bones, we calculated the angle between both iliac articular surfaces. selleckchem Correlation of this inter-iliac angle with body size was calculated and ecological stressors were evaluated on inter-iliac angle. Body size significantly influences inter-iliac angle with small cats having a wider angle than big cats. Arboreal species have a significantly larger angle compared to cursorial felids with the smallest value, and to scansorial and terrestrial species with intermediate angles. Felids hunting large prey have a smaller angle than felids hunting small and mixed prey.
